We were called in at the eleventh hour on this new build.

The framing was up, exterior finished, the floors were in, and the clients were asked to provide all hard finish selections (tile, plumbing fixtures, decorative lighting, wall colors, wallpaper, etc.) to the contractor for installation.

After attempting to source all finishes on her own and feeling overwhelmed, our client reached out for help. Our client definitely knew her personal aesthetic: feminine, traditional, and luxe. And, she had pulled a variety of gorgeous tiles as a starting point, but they were leaning trendy and would be challenging to maintain and clean. We immediately halted the design plan to spare her a trendy result that would not outlast her tenure in this home. We took her favorite design inspiration images, considered the selections she had previously made and put together a design plan that truly reflected her vision.

We chose big and bold floral wallpaper patterns to introduce a new traditional feel that had an overarching softness, making sure that these patterns would not overwhelm the space, but serve as an elegant backdrop for this family home.

We selected classic sized and shaped marble tile for the kitchen and primary bath, traditional finishes like walnut and polished nickel, brushed brass and gold. We selected a clean, white trim color for all millwork and layered in blues and pinks for walls and wallpaper, which perfectly complemented the already installed cherry floors.

Finally, we communicated the importance that lighting would have on their overall design. We strategized the investment pieces in specific locations like the kitchen island and primary bath, while balancing the budget with mid-priced lighting throughout the rest of the home.
